In October I adopted a 2 month old baby from a pet store that someone had brough in with her littermates to be given away. From the time I picked her up, I never put her down until I got home. Right away I noticed she was flopping over on her hind end quite a bit. I had her vet checked and X-rays of her spine showed nothing. Her second visit to the vet, they were not to concered about her handicap since she showed no pain, was palyful like a normal kitty and she just walked funny. As she has grown, now 5 months old, the bigger she gets, the worse it is getting. It is mainly in her left leg and hip. When she walks, she swings that leg out and around and it is very unstable, quivvering and wobbeling non stop as she walks and sits. The quivvering seems to be getting worse and worse and it is so pitiful, watching her. She plays, runs, jumps and does everything a normal kitty will do, seemingly unaware of her problem. Jumping into a chair, sometimes goes like normal, other times, her leg gives out and she has to use her claws to pull herself into the chair. She is such a SWEET baby that everyone, even at the vets office just has fits over her. But she has this handicap... Anyone have and clue, anyone ever have a kitty like her? Any ideas or suggestions? I am far more concerned about this problem than she seems to be, she is totally unaware she has this handicap.I went back to the pet store to see if I could get more information on her and they didn't know anything or how to get in touch with the person who brought them in so we don't know if this is a injury or birth defect or how much worse this will get for her. One of her vets has only handicaped pets and she would take her if I asked but I really want to keep her. BUT, due to how I work, I have to be gone a month and am home a month... if I can't have a good home for her to be in while I am at work where she will get only the best care.. I may have to let the vet have her, depending on just how bad her problem will get. I need to know how bad this will get for her.. Please help if you know anything about this condition. She is the sweetiest kitty you ever saw, everyone says that so I am not just a bragging Mommie..
