Mass. outlaws ban on same sex marriages

Awesome! I only wish all states would give all people the rights they deserve, after all that’s what our country is based on.

I know a man whose partner was dying from injuries sustained in a car accident and because he wasn’t ‘family’ or a spouse he couldn’t be at his bedside during his last moments alive. How sad is that?

This is wonderful! Let's hope more follow suit....

I agree, that's so sad...I would be beyond heartbroken if I couldn't be there for Brian when he needed me...

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

Yay Mass! Tucson recently passed a city domestic partnership. It doesn't provide much since it's only for the city of Tucson, but it does allow partners into hospital rooms. So hopefully Arizona will be the next state to allow same sex marriages.

Isn't being married the 'same sex' over and over and over again???

OK, here's my take on the subject. Love is love and knows no prejudices. If a gay couple wants to marry, why stop them??

Nothing makes me than hearing people say "it's not normal". Your normal is not the same as my normal.

I say congratulations to Mass.!!! It's about time. Let people love who they want to love.

Richard: you can have "same sex" even if you're not married Who would have thought.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Anyone who wants to get married should!

They should be entitled to ALL the benefits-
Health insurance, taxes, regular insurance benefits, bankruptcy,
divorce, infidelity, money problems, children, mortgages,
    fights, money problems...

As much as that sounds like an off-the-cuff remark, I am serious....

    everyone should have the honor....

    BETTER without me???

I understand the depth of the issue.

It shouldn't be a problem anywhere, generally everyone wants
to live with someone in their lives, preferably married.....

So why is the SEX of the person so important?

There are some social issues that complicate the idea of
same sex marriage, but I really and truly believe that people should MYOB....

I was always naive by thinking that same sex marriages were immune to the pitfalls of OS marriage.........

    I was wrong...

I am staying out of the fray of the same sex marriage issue. I see pros and cons to it and figure I'm better off keeping my thoughts to myself. But you have lightened my spirits today with your witty responses!!

I think that people should be able to be married to whoever they want.

I think people should be able to marry whoever they want, but I'm not so sure they should be able to adopt kids, my heart goes out to those who were adopted by a gay couple for they will be teased beyond anyones wild imagination by ignorant teens and biggots.
