    Baby Mice

My Biology class in high school aqquired quite a few mice from an unknown person, and we found out that two of them were pregnant. We kept the two pregnant ones and gave the rest, (except for one male that died later) to petco. I took one female home as my pet. A few weeks later she gave birth to 12 BABIES! and all of them survived ! they're 21 days old now and I was told that I should seperate them after 20 days so that they wouldnt breed any more, plus, cowie, their mom stopped feeding them and they're eating solid food and drinking out of their water bottle. I tried my best to tell whether they were male or female, about all I could think of was to look for nipples, and I think I got most of them correct, but I'm no mouse expert so I'm not sure. Does anyone know how I can make this job a little bit more accurate?? Thx!

    Well done cowie!!!
I'm not sure which is which right now but I know that there are 2 hole's on the under side, for 1 sex, the holes should be far apart and the other sex the holes should be close to each other, I hope this makes sense.
I had this trouble when my hamster gave birth to 12, but luckly I got it right (well there were no more babies so I must have, lol).

You can't actually tell from the nipples in this stage; it's only accurate around 14 weeks. It's difficult to tell even at 3 weeks because the males shouldn't have descended testicles yet.

Here are a couple pics of rats, I couldn't find any of mice but it's pretty much the same thing:

Also, you shouldn't seperate them now. They should be together another two weeks.
