I'm beginning to think you guys are right, and T & P regularly snuggle, they just don't let us see it. Terry and I were upstairs in the loft last night, Terry looked over the balcony and said "Get the camera, quick, you're not going to believe this!" Of course the camera is downstairs and I'm afraid one of them will get up before I get the picture taken, but they were obviously quit comfortable and not in a hurry to move.
Tubby: "If I can just stick my belly out a little further, it'll be like we're really snuggling."
I believe this is the closest they've ever been while sleeping. Usually they're on opposite ends of the room.
Here Peanut says: "Bwwaaaa-haaa-haaaa. Boy have we had you fooled all these years!"
And I honestly thought after she yawned, she would be awake enough to realize how close Tubby was, then get up and walk away, but she didn't. She just put her head back down and went right back to sleep!

they are both so pretty!
Cats can be very sneaky and they think they're fooling us but sometimes they get caught in the act. I'm so glad that Tubby and Peanut finally got caught and that you were able to get pics too. 
I've caught my two - Mishi does that old guy trick - the fake yawn, drape the paw over her shoulders thing -- it's so funny to watch! They even almost touch while sleeping. I MUST get some batteries for my digicam!
