    Fiber pills

I was in the store portion of our rescue/shelter this week and saw bottle of fiber pills for cats. I can't figure out why they are selling them OTC unless a lot of cats need them. Is this something you would give your cat without a prescription? They were pretty expensive ($10.20 for a small bottle). What are they for?

Most likely they are for combination hairball control/regularity. I have used a "sprinkle on their food" type of fiber once for hairball control, but I stopped. Ths gel type laxative in a tube is so much better. I personally would not give my cats ANY pills they did not need simply because pilling the cat is traumatic.
