It's a great book!
It was sad but good, I liked it, it's a good book to have read some time in your life!![]()
Loved it. If you decide to watch a film version DO NOT get the Ethan Hawke one. Blech.

It's important to have an end to journey toward but it's the journey that matters in the end.

Yep, we read that book last year in English. We also watched the film, I can't remember if it was the Ethan Hawke one or not. I liked it.

Was the film set NOW? Ie not the same as the book? Then that's the Ethan Hawke one. Its set modern, very silly dialgue. He's a painter in NYC or something.

Oh no, it wasn't that version. It was the "original" version, I guess you could call it....Originally posted by babolaypo65

Sorry but I hated it! Had to read it in school and have never forgotten how much I disliked it. Ugh. I liked The Red Pony by John Steinbeck. That was sad. Also, Where the Red Fern Grows.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
I miss you
I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.
Fur as dark as the night.
Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Perhaps my favorite book of all time, by my favorite author! The original movie version is wonderful! The "modern," Ethan Hawke version has nothing to do with this literary masterpiece, as far as I'm concerned! Yuck is right!
