What's the color of Lily's eyes?

Does anyone have an idea how to call that color?

I took a picture of her today in natural light (without using flash), so her eyes are pretty much looking like they do in reality (with flash, they're looking much greener, which they are not).

But what would you call that color? I have NO IDEA! LOL Just - BROWN??? That's way to trivial, isn't it? What about AMBER? But then again, it's too brown for that! Any ideas?

BTW, it's not the third eye lid you see, but she's still a bit crossed-eyed...

Olive? Sandstone? (I always though a fun job would be coming up with the names for colors....paint, crayons, etc. and cat's eyes!)

    Beautiful!?!?

Well, there is definately green by the pupil. I almost wanted to say a hazel color.

My friend has hazel eyes that can turn green depending on her mood.

Yes, there is a bit green, but only around the pupil.

Hmmm, hazel and copper are very close, but it's something between...

It kind of reminds me of a semi-precious-stone I once saw, but I don't remember the name...

Hmmm, did some research and I think I found what I was looking for. Don't know the English name of it, but the German name is "Tigerauge" and you can translate it as "tiger's eye".

This is what it's looking like:

That's what they're called in English too....

I love the little green tinge on the inside, its so unusual!

Kirsten, in a book I have at home "The Book of the Cat" I looked up the coloring and Lily's eyes would be considered "Hazel" in their coloring.
