New kitten

Good grief! My big tough green beret husband just brought home a new kitten. I got home from work at 2 am and he was sleeping on the couch with her! He even brought her to bed with us.

My big scary-looking shepherd/rott mix can't seem to get enough of her either - he's spent every free moment sniffing and licking the little furball. She swats at him a little, but she doesn't seem to mind. He takes every opportunity to saturate her with saliva.

I can't wait to get my new cable for my digital camera so I can send pictures. She's so beautiful - she's grey and fluffy, with white paws and dainty little white markings aroudn her eyes. The insides of her ears are white - she's so beautifull! I think we're naming her Kate (after Katherine Hepburn).

He got her from a lady standing outside of Walmart with a box of kittens - this was then last one left. What an old softy.

your new kitten sounds like the new one im going to be getting on the 27th of this month. her name is mittens. she has white paws and grey around her little legs. she is so soft. she picked me and when im not with her she "crys" for me. i have 2 cats already, they are 4 years old. my dog does the same thing to new kittens. she loves to chase them and give them baths. the kittens do the same as your kitten, swats at the dog. lol. i cant wait until i get the new addition to my family.

I can imagine the picture of your husband with Kate and it is a very cute picture. How lucky Kate is to have found a good home. I am not sure whether standing outside of Walmart is the best way to give your kittens a good start -but Kate (like Miz Hepburn) got it all right

As soon as I can I'll take pictures of the kitten - and some of her with Big Dumb Dog and the hubby. She's such a little sweetie!

By the way - anybody know how often new kittens use the litterbox? We have another cat (and have had others in the past) but Toby always goes potty outside. With the others, we usually had the litterbox in a very accessible place and I didn't pay much attention. We have the litter box on the 2nd floor now, and until I know she's completely trained I want to bring her up there once in a while, just to make sure. It's almost 5:00 pm and she's only gone once today.

Congrats on your new kitten!!! She sounds adorable. I can't wait to see some pics of her. I don't know how often a kitten needs to use the litterbox but it might be a good idea to confine her to the room with the litterbox when you aren't home. Do you know how old she is?
