We have a VERY beautiful Dog Beach here in Florida. It is WAY cleaner and prettier than the normal beach for humans. It has clean, sugar white sand, clear water with NO rocks, and it's nice and big.

I think itis a GREAT idea as I LOVE to take my dogs everywhere I go. They enjoy the beach very much. As Simba likes to lay in the sun and Nala likes to tromp around in the water.

The human beachs have all sorts of rocks washing up on shore. It's always crowded as to where this one, there's a parking lot for the beach. The sand at the regular beach is all padded down and hard from all of the cars driving on it.

Here are a few photos i've taken at the dog beach...

I don't think I'd go to the beach if my dogs weren't allowed.

I live on Cape Cod (far northeastern coast) and we are surrounded by water. Dozens and dozens of beaches, including the Natl. Seashore, but none exclusively for dogs. We do have a few small lakes and ponds that are set aside for dogs.

Dogs are allowed on the beaches from Sept. through May. In the summer, you have to go very early in the morning and in the evening. People are good here about picking up after their dogs and themselves. We have dispensers with poop bags at the entrances to the beaches and lots of trash cans. The beaches are "raked" every morning by the town. I'd have to say the beaches are very clean and the water too, though not as warm as KayAnn's! I love seeing the dogs enjoying a romp and a swim

A little off subject, but when I was in Oahu at this beach, there was this retriever there. He apparently lived at one of the houses next to the beach and roamed free. He would just swim and play with the tourists all day long. He loved all of the attention. At the end of the day, I saw his owner call him for dinner. It was kinda cool.

Sadie loves the beach. We lived by the beach in NJ where dogs are allowed Sept - May but have visited some CA dog beaches. My future mother-in-law lives near you Kay Ann so hopefully Sadie can see your beach someday - it looks beautiful and I'm sure the water is warmer than the other places we've been!

Sadie will only swim if I go in with her - but I'm not much of a swimmer either! None of the beaches were dirty.

Ruby & I LOVE the dog beach! It's only a couple minutes away from our house, it's one of our absolute favorite places to visit! So, yes, obviously I think it is a wonderful idea!

    Here's some pics:
