    Question for Pug owners

I have a pug puppy, but I am looking for a nice collar for her. The problem is I found some I like, but I don't know how big her neck will get. Can someone with a full grown pug tell me the size of his/her collar. Thanks a bunch.

    Dear Diana,

I just found this website today and could not believe my eyes when I read your post, we too have a black pug named Sylvia! How wonderfu! !!! Your little Sylvia is sooo cute, how did you choose her name?

My best advise on choosing a collar would be to start out with a adjustable harness she can grow into, then when she is full grown get her a special collar. Our pugs all have necks bigger then their heads and can back out of their collars. This is so scary if your taking them for a walk and they can get away from you.

Our Sylvia gained ALOT of weight after she was spayed, and her head is so tiny compared to her round little body.

Please keep in touch, and give your little Sylvia a hug for me!

WOW, I was so excited that there was another black pug Sylvia that I called my brother to tell him!! He named her We came up with the name just by throwing out names that the entire family liked, plus she just looks like a Sylvia. Our Sylvia has a harness, but we like to keep her tags on all the time so we want her to have a collar too. She has a little puppy one now, but she is growing out of it so I want to get her a nice one. Thanks for your help. Keep me posted about any news about your Sylvia and I'll keep you posted about mine .
There are more pictures of Sylvia in the Dog General section. The post is labeled 'More pics of Sylvia, Harley, & Grizz' if you're interested.
ps. please post some pictures of Sylvia and your other pugs, I'd love to see them.

    Dear Diana,

Was so happy to get your message! Would love to see more pictures of her, however I can't find the section on general pet pictures.....help.

How old is your Sylvia, is she a big eater and how much does she weigh?

We have a collection of out grown collars, every size, style and color. Sylvia's recent collar is black with rhinestones, very feminine. It is has several additional holes if we need to adjust it. She's a little on the heavy side. weighing a whopping 26 lbs!
She is 3 years old and is such a sweety, she's the only girl.

Our other pugs are boys, both fawns. Elmer who is 9 years old and is an angel to us. We rescued him a year ago from a local pug rescue, I know our days are numbered with him, it is heart breaking, he has stolen my heart.

Then there is Dennis who is 4 years old, he is such a cool little guy. His hobbies include swimming with the kids, playing chase and going Bye-Bye in the dune buggy.

I could write a book about all three of them, they are my little clowns for sure.

I will get with my husband and have him help me with their pictures so you can see them.

Take care, and give Sylvia a big hug for me,
    Brigitte

Thank you so much for sharing some of the information about your puglets!! The link for more of my Sylvia's pictures are :

Sylvia is 6 months old and last time she was at the vet (about a month ago) she was 12 pounds. The vet said she had a big belly, but now she doesn't anymore. I have been taking her for one or two walks a day. We were feeding her three times a day, but the vet said she only needs to eat twice.

Oh my, two puggilys and both named Sylvia. How cute!! I have been a pug admirer from afar for a couple of years now. Some day I really do believe I shall have one for my very own. Right now I have two poodles and have always had poodles in my adult life. There is something about those pugs though that just stops my heart when I see one. I love their silly little personalities and have been known to get on the ground and talk to them in pet stores, etc. much, I am sure, to the amazement of their owners. I hope you both will hang around and post pictures and stories so that I can live vicariously through you! Welcome to Pet Talk!!
