    I'm weak (jailbird update)

Well, last night (1 week into cage conefinement) I broke. I could simply not listen to Jim's pathetic criesfor one more second. I gave him (as well as Sterling) access to the whole room. (Sterling has had the room for 4 days already, *see "time off for good behavior"*)
This morning, I did not find any pee spots, so that is a start. Jim still cries but I can at least feel better knowing that he has a bit more room to run around (plus other luxuries, such as they are).

Now for the positive side of the story:
They are helping me tame Annie. Annie has been in with Sterling (with out access to the kittens her own age) and that seems to be making her more willing to be MY friend. Going is still slow but I do see some progress.

One more full week to go before their follow up urinalysis. Can I make it?

This required a visit to Cat Health

For the full story! Gosh, that would be very hard on you Jen ... hang in there and give Sterling and Jim lots of kitty kisses - and Annie!

Jen I can understand you quite well. I felt like that -but only for a short time- when we had to pill Filou and he hated it and run out of the room for one day whenever he saw me.

For me it is a help if I can talk about it with Siegmar. Both of us are rather weak hearted and tell each other how much we hate to do something to the kitties that looks like abuse to them. But we talk each other into how we need to be hard.

I have no idea how I would deal with it for a week, however. It hurts me too to think of Jim and so I am glad that he has now the room for him and that up to now he is medically fine (but not psychologically )

With 14 cats I understand that there is a much bigger danger that unwanted behavior spreads as well as infections. (Tigris is such a healthy tough cookie that he never caught one if Filou's infections). Thus I am convinced that you are doing the right thing.

You know that you are a very good and responsible cat mom - and in a week or so it will start to be fun again.

So we keep our paws and fingers crossed that you can hold on

I am praying that Jim will be better! I know what you mean though! When John first came here I promised to myself that he would stay in isolation for a week, but after listening to him cry , he was out the next day. I am week too , I cant stand to hear a Cat cry!

That is great that you found no pee spots. You're almost there!

That is also great news about Annie. I'm glad there is a positive side to this and you are able to find it.

    Hang in there!

Yes Jen, you can make it. You made it through week one, you can make it through week two.
Glad to hear of the progress with Annie.

Hang in there Jen! It will get better......

BTW: I would have done the same thing if I were you.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
