Oh poor PJ!! Killian and Shiloh have had a variety of lumps and bumps (in fact, Killian has two now). Shiloh had a suspicious one on her foot, too. So far, all the lumps have been benign. I hope that yours is too!! Please keep us updated!!

I really don't know how to describe the thing on Peej's foot. It looks like some kind of cyst, but it's soft, and flesh colored. It has grown a little since it first appeared a couple of weeks ago, but it's pretty much just there. It doesn't even bother him.

I am back from the doktor now.

I was kind of brave, but Bawee was a big baby, and she only had to have her nails cut!

The doktor was a little nice, but he told me that i have to have an operation to have the thing taken off my foot. he said he could do it when i go to have my teeth cleaned. he has to put me to sleep.

mommy is glad it's not serious. It's something called a skin cap and the doktor said it has been there for a long time but because I have a lot of hair on my foot, no one (not even the groomer) ever saw it.

the doktor even did my anal glands and that hurt!

I'm sleepy, so I'm gonna go take a nap before the squirrels come out.

    luv,

    peej

That's good news, PJ!!! Is a skin cap the same as a skin tag?? Mine have had them, too. As long as you're having a dental, you may as well have it removed, too!! Good! Glad to hear that all went well. Killian will totally agree with you about the anal gland expression, yup, that hurt. I remember having to hold him down while the vet expressed the glands and have Killian climb all the way up to my head and would have climbed over me, if he could!!! OUCH to me, too!
Hugs to you and "Bawee", too!!

I'm sorry you have to have sir jury, Peej, but glad to hear the white coat doesn't think it's anything serious Poor baby. That anal gland ***procedure*** is no fun either. What a brave little boy you were! And Bawee too We'll be thinking of you P.J. When's the big day??

A skin cap is the same thing as a skin tag, I guess. He called it by both names.

I think (and don't tell Peej ) that I'll send him in to have this done within the next 2 weeks or so. Between having his teeth cleaned and having this skin tag removed it'll cost somewhere between $400 - $450, so it'll take a week or two to get the money together.

I hate it when they have to put him to sleep.

Yeah, the vet bills can kill ya! Killi has had 8 teeth removed and numerous lumps and bumps taken off! Shiloh has only had three removed. Having doggie-kids is not cheap! I only wish we could deduct them on our income tax!

Killi is only put under very slightly because of his liver not handling the anesthetic, like twilight sleep. He is monitored very carefully. I hate having them put under, too!

Good luck and keep us posted!!
