Nebo and Lady hurt their paws

We had Lady and Nebo at the dog park today. Somehow they managed to both hurt their paws in the same way...actually the exact same paws on both of them also. I'm not quite sure what happened. The dog park is mostly dirt and rocks, so they must have scraped them on something.

    Here's a pic of Nebo's foot..

It's not deep at all. It's just like the top layer of the pad is pulled back. Lady was limping, but Nebo hasn't been limping/licking his foot at all. I'm not sure what to do about it. I cleaned it with water and put a bit of hydrogen peroxide on it. Now you may think I'm nuts, but I've heard of sealing cuts with glue. I didn't want the flap of skin moving around while he walked and possible getting caught and tearing worse. So I put a couple drops of liquid glue that dries instantly and sealed the skin down. I've also wrapped it up, but I'm not sure how long that will last....

Do you think this is ok? I'll take him to the vet if needed, but I'm not sure what a vet could do about it...it's not something that can (or needs to be) stitched up.

I am sorry that Nebo and Lady hurt their paws. Drake's pad has looked liked that before. It healed pretty quickly, though.

Get well soon, Nebo and Lady!

I suggest putting polysporin on it, and maybe peroxide. poor nebo, other then the cut on his foot, his pads are so clean and pritty, what a well groomed doggie. Tikeyas pads and hard and gritty like sand paper, and hers are black.

I've also used bag balm on the doggies feet.

Try to keep them from licking at it, poor puppers.

The glue probably will be fine, but watch to make sure the injured part doesn't get hot and red - that means infection under the skin that is now sealed up. However, if you cleaned it well, it probably will be just fine. Using the antibiotic ointment on the area is a very good idea!

Sorry to hear that your pups got hurt!

I agree, using glue sounds like a good thing!
    (ouch...that looks like it hurts!!)
I know I use super glue on myself once in a while, so I would use it on my pups as well!

I sure hope they both feel better!!

Wow, poor Lady & Nebo. Nebo's wound looks almost like
a callus or blister that's broken open. The antibiotic ointment
should help a lot. What is you friend doing for Lady's foot? Get
    better quick Nebo.

    Ouch!!

Sadie did something similar to the pad of her foot a few summers ago. we put triple antibiotic cream on it and then wrapped it with gauze (as long as we could get her to keep it on) It healed pretty quick.

Oh geez! Poor Nebo and Lady Looks like a real ouchy! Daily cleaning (well, nightly) with hydrogen peroxide and applying antibiotic ointment should help. No experience with the glue, though! If it doesn't seem to healing in a few days, if they seem in pain, or if it becomes hot and inflammed, I would call the vet, though. Feel better soon, Lady and Nebo!!

Nebo says thanks for the well wishes everyone!

I kept him inside in a crate today (he kept looking at me like, Mom are ya really gonna leave me in this little thing?)....when I let him out after work, I had a look at his paw. The skin just ripped right off. So now he's got this patch of raw, red skin exposed. It's not bleeding though, and it doesn't look infected. He doesn't limp unless he tries to run...and isn't licking it much. I think it's bothering me more then it is him.

I talked to Melissa and she said the skin ripped off of Lady's too....she's been washing it, and she says it looks really good. Lady's not limping much anymore, and seems to just be walking around and taking it easy (compared to her hyper self!)

We'll be keeping a watch on both of them, and if it appears to be getting worse instead of better, it's a vet trip!

Maybe try some Salt water? I used a cottage cheese dish for Nova and put some water and salt in there and then just dipped her foot.

    Get well soon Nebo!!
