    Savannah

Is HOT and HUMID!!! My northern blood had some difficulty (note to self...do not take dry clean only clothes to Savannah in August) but we had a wonderful time.

I ate fried green tomatoes (normally I willl NOT eat tomatoes) and lots of sea food. I visited Juliette Gordon Low's house...yes, Debbie, I was a Girl Scout too. I am now reading her biography. Very Interesting!

Here's her house and the gate. It is now Girl Scouts of America headquarter.

We went to Hilton Head Island and snuck on the beach for a swim in the Atlantic...

(Yes, I have a bathing suit on! )
Here's the beach house we bought

    Just kidding!

Then we went to Charleston, SC. What a disappointment Logan that you will be there next weekend instead! It is a favorite city of ours. My brother's wife is old Charlestonian. I love the sideways houses there!

All in all....a lovely birthday gift! Now off to the dry cleaners!

I always thought I'm crazy as I swim with my glasses (would never find the beach again without them) but ok -next time I'll try sunglasses

Good you gave the information about the bath suit as I was wondering.....

and very good I know now about the tomatoes

Looks as if you had a wonderful time and enjoyed yourself. This sets a standard for further outings

Sara, I just knew you would love Savannah! About five years ago, I was there and loved all of the squares.

It rained and rained and everything in my suitcase was a soggy mess.

But it is such a beautiful city.

Now - this beach house - is it open to Pet Talker's?

Maybe that is what we need - a Pet Talk Beach! Big sandbox for the kitties and lots of running room for the dogs.

Great pictures! Looks like you had a ton of fun. I must ask the burning question all of us want to know: Did you remember to get Edwinda and Eduardo a present? and what? Inquiring minds want to know.

Ahhhhhhh!!! I missed this, yesterday, Sara!!! Thanks for bumping it up for me!!!!

I love Hilton Head, although I don't get there often. The last time we were there, Helen and I found dozens of sanddollars in the edge of the water, which felt like bath water!!! And you went to Charleston, darn it!! Saturday morning, we will be there!!! Nothing like poor timing, I guess!!!

So glad you had a good birthday trip, even if it was a hot, humid one! You should have asked. I would have told you........dress comfortably in all cotton, as it is hot and humid in the Lowcountry! Heck, it is hot and humid here!!!!!

Wow, looks like a great trip! I too was wondering about the bathing suit!

And when you said you bought that beach house, my first reaction was oh goody! We'll have to go visit!

Glad you had a wonderful weekend. Now if only there was a switch to turn the town crier off......

Sounds like a wonderful time and I love the pics. Do tell, did you buy a new hat for HH?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Whatever would Edwina think if her secretary went skinny dipping!

I've always wanted to go to SC. One of my best friends has family there.

I was a Girl Scout too! I'd love to see the original headquarters. *sighs*

Love the pics! Looks like a great trip.
