The Dog Who Spelled His Name?
At the same time, word had just come in at the sanctuary that a nearby research laboratory wanted to release one of their dogs who had spent time in anesthesia experimentation. Best Friends agreed to take him, and Paul went to pick him up.
Now comes the strange part!
“While we were driving back home,” explains Paul, “we were throwing around names for the dog, like Charlie and such. I turned around and asked him, ‘So what’s your name, buddy? Tell me.’ The dog promptly turned to the window and started writing on it with his nose. When he’d finished, the name REXY was there on the window, quite unmistakable!”
Rexy is recovering from the anesthetics that have been pumped into him. His brain is a little fuzzy and he tends to freeze when you ask him to do anything, but he’s getting the idea of having a whole new life, and will soon be ready for adoption.
