my dog hates girls.

i have noticed that when ever my friends try to pet him... he growls and walks away... i am a girl too... and he does the same thing to me sometimes (not often... he knows i'm the one who feeds him) he doesn't bare his teeth or anything... just growls and slowly walks away looking back over his shoulder. he's a german shepherd dog... and we've had him for 6 years... he only started acting like this last year... any tips or explainations?

Do you know if anyone could have made him fearful of females last year? Any scary incidents?

For any future female visitors...I'd just tell them to let him come to her. Maybe even leaving a little tidbit on the ground around you and your friend for him to come and get.

LOL! You got that right. Husbands have
a way of bringing out the best in us! hehehe

Joking aside, if he just started this recently, he
might be also not be feeling well. I know that
Thyroid among other stuff, can effect a dogs personality.
I also noticed my dogs get old, they
seem to get a bit grumpier.

yea he does seem a lot less... puppyish... maybe i should... take him to the vet... (dan dan dan) <--- evil music.... ehehehhehe... he's nice most of the time... usually it's just when there's a lot of girls around... i think maybe it's because he doesn't like shreiking girls... and most of my friends... use the baby voice (oowoooshi wooo) on him... he doesn't like that... it's degrading to him. and they pulll on his ears... he has rather big ears.... even for his breed.... he's very hansom... but i'm not sure what it is that's been bugging him.
he raised baby ducks.... they used to sleep on him at night.. i wish i had a picture of it...
he took care of the baby chicks... and kittens.... and he loves my rats... they ride on his back ^^ so cute!!
