The other day my mother heard a bird outside being extremely loud and talking non-stop. So of course, knowing me, I had to go check it out. I had found this beautiful bird just standing there, not flying away from me when I came close to him. I figured maybe he/she was looking for it's babies? But, I was able to capture the bird, no problem. So, I put him in a box and we brought him to a wildlife bird rehabilitaion center. We donated some money and filled out the form on information on the bird, where it was found and whatnot. It turns out that the adult Northern Flicker Woodpecker had a broken leg and needed a brace for about 4 weeks and then he'd be released into the wild again. Yay... lol.
