    Ears

Ok this might a be a stupid question. My cat will scratch his ears or shake his head and move on of his ears like it is bothering him. I looked inside his ear and I seen no ear mites or scratches of any kind. Last time he did this he had a scratch or 2 right near the opening to his ear. This time I see nothing. Is it possible that he can have ear wax build up and if so how do I take care of it? It is always the same ear. And he does the scratching for a day or two then it doesn't bother him for another month or 2. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Katie

If it's just ear wax he would do nothing. I would go to see the vet if he continues to do so.

If he is shaking his head then its not ear wax build up. It sounds to me like its a fungal infection in the ear. I would take kitty to the vet so theycan take a swab of the ear.

Infections in the ear of kitty's is quite serious. Bastet had one just recently.
