Nova's visit to the white coats, not so good news

Nova has had this little hole in her paw for about a month now. My Cousin and his Wife (EMT'S) looked at it and we poured hydrogine peroxide (sp) on it and we were watching it for any type of infection. I looked at it probly every other day and about a week ago and it seemed almost complelty heeled over, no infection or anything. So I didn't really give it a thought since. Last night I looked at it again just to see how it was doing and it was all swollen and purple and pink. It was nasty looking. So I called my vet and he said to bring her in there at 3:30 or take her to the animal emergency clinc. So I said I would bring her in. She is on some form of antibiotic twice a day for awile and he said that if the antibiotic clears it up but it comes back he may have to go in surgecly and see if there is anything in her paw like a piece of stick, or he said even a blad of grass can upset it. I'm so worried about my baby. I know this may sound stupid but I am so upset. Last time she was on antibitotics she was deathly ill and couldn't even stand up (kennel cough and she got spayed), I know this wont happen this time, but I dunno, I just feel like something is going to go wrong. And the worst part is I am going to South Caralina for the week, I wont even be her if she needs me. I am so upset right now. I don't know what to do. Now sitting on a beach in warm weather doesn't sound fun at all. I'd rather be here freezing.

If ya'll could please say a prayer for Novie, I am so terribly worried bout her. I just don't want anything to happen to her, I will be angry at myself forever.

I will certainly say a little prayer for Nova. I hope her paw will heal soon with aid from the antibiotics. Try not to worry too much Ash, be strong for Nova and for yourself.

Oh, I'm sorry Ashley! Poor Novie! Of course, we will be keeping Novie in our prayers. It's not silly for you to worry! Festering paw wounds can be tricky to treat! Hopefully there will be no side effects from the antibiotics, this time! Get well soon, Novie!

I got back home from South Caralina last night and a big yellow dog praticly tackled me when I walked in the door

She's doing great, no problems. And her foot is healing wonderfully! I am so happy. I just hope that after she is done on the meds it doesn't go back to being infected, I will be keeping a close eye on it.

Thanx for the prayers everyone ::hugs::
