Foster Bonnie and kindle go to the vet today

Bonnie will get her FeLV/FIV test. Please pray that she is negative because I can not stand the thought of her being sick.

The kittens will get their first shot (6 weeks old now)

And then whatever is appropriate for this time. I am fairly certain we will be treating for ear mites. Bonnie had all the symptoms of them and even though I have treated her, I could not do it immediately upon arrival (due to her timidness) so I believe the kittens have been infected. But that is not uncommon, so I am not worried.

The kittens have had their early wormer, but Bonnie needs to be tested for worms as well.

(I may end up with a little drug store in my house)
Wish us luck. The appointment is at 3pm Eastern time.

Bonnie tested negative for both FeLV and FIV. YEAH!

Babies are a good weight, the girls are both bigger than the boys.

Bonnie has put on wieght, which is good, because she is skinny.

Ear mites, as I suspected and one flea was found on Bonnie, so guess who is going to work with me to get a flea bath.

Now I am told to wean the babies.........I MUST take Bonnie away from them totally. I will give them 2 or 3 more days and then, I'll be trying to introduce Bonnie to the BIG 13 ! So the babies can stay in their room.

On Sat. June 28th they will go to their first "adoption days". I hope they have a big turn out that day.

Yeah!! Everything went well with the tests today!! I am very happy! That is very stressful, waiting for the results!
My Romeo also had earmites when I took him to the Vet for boosters last week. The vet gave these weird smelling white drops to use once a week, and I need to treat Sammy too-just in case they spread to him.
Good luck at the adoption I hope all the kitties find great homes!
I am glad I don't live close to you, because I am sure I would have to sneak over to the adoption, and well, you know what I mean!

Kim, I love my signature! Thanks!

How can I be so happy and sad at the same time? Bonnie being healthy is huge! The kitties being weaned and going to their adoption days is so sad...I can't help it, I just feel that way.

Wonderful news for Bonnie! And as hard as it will be to let them go, I'm sure the kittens will find loving homes--if it wasn't such a full house around here I'd love to scoop them all up myself!

Maybe you could send along a note with each baby--with the PT address and something like this:

You're adopting a very special kitten. There are a lot of people at this website who have fallen in love with [Cashew, Bagel, Pouncer, or Kiwi], and they would love for you to stop by, post photos, and let them know how your kitty is doing.

WOW, I can't believe it's been six weeks already!!! So happy that Bonnie got a clean bill of health! Those babies were so lucky to have such a good kitty and humom to bring them into this world in a healthy, loving environment! It is really sad to think that they may be adopted soon, but you should be very proud that you gave them such a wonderful start! GREAT JOB, Jen!

Glad to hear everything went well at the vet's. It is really hard to believe that those little kittens are ready to go to new homes. Time sure does fly by.

Jen, too bad they won't be ready this coming weekend. My husband and I will be up in the Lancaster area (don't know how close you are to there).

    Good job Jen!!! PICTURES!!!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers
