The government and the post office are currently in talks t settle things. As of Friday the strike had been delayed. I haven't heard anything about it on the news this weekend so as far as I know the strike is still on hold.
Goonies never say die!
Thanks Amy for the great sig!
Even if the Canadian postal service goes on strike you could ship the gift through a different carrier such as UPS, FedEx, or Airborne. They all ship international, but it would be a little more expensive than just shipping something regular priority mail.

Actually catmandu said something to me about it. If you don't feel comfortable sending anything right now. You can wait and see what is happening with the strike.

Everyone will know on Monday or late tonight.
Said my manager (I work in a postal outlet).
It is advided to keep parcels with u, or to atleast add some form of tracking to it.
But if the strike does happen, its very likely it'll last more then 2 weeks, in 1997 the government forced them to go back to work, so its more then likely gonna happen again.
