LOL, I hear that sound every night. The only difference is that they are usually running on me or on the bedroom furniture so I know EXACTLY where they are when they go thump thump thump

Ha ha, you should hear Hanna and Abby - they sound like a herd of horses coming through. It is REALLY loud!

Very true story, and I might have already posted this on PT. When I lived in Massachusetts, I had a guy come up to my door, Tex and I lived above him, and ask me what kind of DOG I had!!! I told him I had a very small kitty, named Tex, and he refused to believe me. He said it sounded like, at a minimum, a large dog!! Today, when I am in the basement, I can't believe what the herd sounds like in motion.

Bo doesn't like the chasing games - he's a little old, and the dogs know that they aren't to be chasing the cats. Abby and Hanna have their own little game of tag going on. I don't think I could handle all the animals running at once - and neither could all my breakables!

With my Trevor weighing in at 19 lbs. when he runs he does sound like a dog! In fact, he is heavier than my dog (Ripley!)

well in the old house, that was twice this size and had a hallway... they all really sounded like a herd of cattle stampeeding! I had forgot that til now. nowi hear the little running feet sound, light thump thump thump, is the best I can explain it. but not like it was. I would love to have a house that they could run up and down stairs as long as I didnt have to hear it from below!

    lmao cute thread!

Oh gosh I know exactly what that noise is like. In my experience, Siamese are VERY heavy footed. The first Meezer/Domestic Short Hair cross that we had used to sound like this as she ran up and down the hallway at 6.a.m. on Saturday mornings:

"Thump, thump, thump, thump (add the Doppler effect here as she gets closer), THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, sound of claws getting stuck in the carpet, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP (add the Doppler effect here as she gets further away). Repeat about 1,345 times.

Mum to two little humans, a very vocal 14 year old Ragdoll, and a super energetic and snuggly rescue kitten.

    Funny only in Retropsect!

Gosh, I never got to sleep in on Saturdays, lol. Misguided members of my family thought that I'd want two young cats tearing around my room at some early hour of the morning!

P.S. Pixel again woke me at 6.a.m. by chewing my hair. My solution? Putting her on Daddy's pillow, heh, heh, heh.

    Thunder Paws!

One of my favorite sounds! My neighbor upstairs has two cats and I love hearing the sound of thunder paws as they dash around his apartment. It's the sound of happy cats. We both have LONG hallways that the cats love to dash up and down chasing each other. Now that I have two cats too, I can hear (and feel!) that wonderful sound firsthand - and sometimes in the middle of the night as they dash over my body in bed! LOL!

Today we'll find out exactly how much Mishi weighs -- I'm sure it's more than 15 lbs - my big Maine Goon!
