    Won't wear a collar!

Chloe refuses to wear a collar, so we use a harness on her when she takes walks and stuff, but we need to put on her dog tags with her health information on it in case she runs away somehow or if we decide to take her to a dog park or something.
Any ideas? Because we can't leave the harness on, it's way too big.
    Thanks!

you could try a very light collar to start off with , then gradually put a heavier collar on the dog.

also do you have trouble getting the collar on or just keeping it on?

That's awfully odd! You could get your dog microchipped, we have our cats microchipped. You know what that is right?

You go to the vets office, and they insert this little capsule about the size of a grain of rice between the shoulder blades. They put the dogs health information in there and location information. Then when strays are found they wave an electronic device over the microchip area, and if your dog is chipped, the information would show up on the scanner, and they can find out who owns this dog, and find out its medical history/needs. I think it is an awesome idea!!

Hmm, I heard about that, and I thought it was pretty awesome. Does anyone know how much it costs?

I'm not sure of the exact cost. I do know that it is not that horribly expensive. You could call your vet and ask how much it would cost to microchip a dog.

Here microchipping costs only 20 dollars If you live in the states, it will probably cost less. It seems like it would be expensive, so I'm not sure why it isn't lol.

But a dog will still need tags. It is illegal for a dog to be out with no tag that states that it's had all of it's vaccinations, like rabies.

Try walking her with the harness while the collar is on. Maybe not even fully strapped on but just touching her for a few seconds. Work your way up in time. Eventually, she'll see it's okay. You can even give a treat after wearing it.

As for microchipping...it's fairly cheap here. I think it's an awesome idea. It never hurts to have extra identification.

It's just a metter of her getting used to it, as others have suggested. What about putting it on while she's in the house, then play with her to distract her. Leave it on longer and longer every time - she will get used to it!
