    New Puppy!!!!

    Some of you may know that we have been talking about a new puppy coming to live with us. It's now been almost 3 years since the death of our last poodle. Up 'til now the house has been "run" by two kitties. Well, yesterday that changed!!

    We have adopted a precious baby standard poodle. She is cream colored and at the moment weighs about 5 lbs. but will grow to be about 45 lbs. As of right now, she is nameless! The four of us were throwing out names last night and not one name was liked by everyone so it's still up in the air. Any contributions? Also, as soon as I can I will post a picture.

    Thank you so much, Genia, for your input about little pugglys!!!!!! As you know, hubby was in favor of another poodle from day one so I really couldn't get him to budge too much on this. Doggie #2 will be a pug for sure!! As for right now I have to get my kitties use to her. They are both afraid of her and have been in hiding! I didn't expect quite this reaction but hopefully as the days go on everyone will like each other!

    Got to head off to work now but I had to write all of you with news of our blessed event!!

    Oh Happy Day, I get to be first to say congratulations on the new addition into the family. I know you have to be so excited. I bet it was hard to go off to work this morning. I know how your hubby feels. Once you have a dog of a breed that you love so intensely and works out so well for you, it is hard to explore other options. This will be a riot as you can relate all the raising the puppy tales, that is if you have any time. Okay, now which would you rather do play with the puppy or be on the computer. Ha, that is a no brainer. Just don't desert us completely.

    I can't wait to see pictures and please smell the puppy breath for me!!!

    Oh, yay! Congratulations to you, your husband and the puppy, condolences to the kitties! First name that came to mind was Camellia, with those creamy white flowers, but I'll ponder! Hide the shoes! Oh happy puppy day!

    Oh, that's wonderful, Pam! I'm so happy you finally got your pup! Poodle or Pug, pups bring so much joy to our lives. Karen's idea of Camellia as a name is a great choice. Of course, knowing me, I'd end up calling her Cammy. I'll try and think up some names today and give some inputs later. Congratulations again! Can't wait to see a picture!

    * Lexi
    * Morgan
    * Ellie
    * Camellia (as Karen suggested, it's real pretty)
    * Jessie

    Congradulations Pam, we are all so happy for you. This new puppy will bring such joy to your family. Really, I'm jealous, we were going to adopt a little Schnauzer that a girl had, who was going to have a baby, she brought it down from Los Angeles and after a few minutes introducing the dogs, Perry attacked her, I was beside myself, I had fallen in love with her, but we couldn't take the chance that she would be hurt, so my husband drove the Schnauzer back up to Los Angeles and her groomer adopted her. Our big mistake in not introducing them on neutral ground. Learned a lesson there! I am so happy for you, maybe you could add another a little later on. Let see, names
    Angel
    Phoebe
    Peggy Sue
    Sophie
    Sugar
    Blanca (white means white)
    Dinah
    Good luck to you and your new pup and let us know how she is doing and photos, please!

    What an exciting time!! I posted on the cat board, but I had to post a congrats here too!! Be sure to let us know how the kitties are coming along with the puppy I can use it as advice for my husband (see, honey, our cats can get along with a dog...)

    I like the names Phoebe, Morgan, Sophie and Camellia(that must have the most votes...LOL)that were mentioned above.

    Here's my 2 cents on names:
    Koshka - means "cat" in Russian. Maybe you're cats will like her better if they think of her as part of their "cat" family??

    You guys are great! Thanks for all of the nice wishes. We had a really good night last night. Put her in her crate around 11:00 for the night and I tried to go to sleep. She wailed and my heart broke. Hubby took her out and played with her while I tried to fall asleep upstairs. He came to bed at 1:00 and put her back in the crate. This morning I came down and her crate was sparkling clean.....no poopies or peepees! Took her right out and she did both. I must have looked like a total idiot in the yard praising this little girl! We came in and I fed her. Shortly after, took her out again. More poopies and peepees. After work I gave her lunch, took her out and more poopies and peepees! Now snow is on the way they say, so I don't know how much fun it's gonna be to go poopie and peepee in the snow. We'll have to see....

    She's sleeping now so I have a little "computer time." I will be getting nothing done in the near future I can tell cause when I get a minute I have to talk to you all!. Darn near had the gas pedal floored on the way home from work so I could get here ASAP! It was heartbreaking to leave this morning.

    My kitties are still in hiding. I am really worried about them and want them to know that I still love them very, very much!! The guilt has begun big time!!!! Hopefully tonight we can have "family night" and all become acquainted! I had to bring a litter box upstairs for Trevor and also some food and water (since he is too wimpy right now to venture downstairs). The food has been touched but no contributions to the litter box. Now I am worrying about his little bodily functions! Hopefully he will go soon. Andy is still hanging out in the basement but he has food, water and "bathroom facilities" down there. His food doesn't look like he has had much to eat either. Boy, I hope they start to eat soon.

    Pup still has no name but I am liking several that I see here. We'll have a family pow-wow and see who likes what!
