    Available Dogs

Planned pethood always has the cutest dog...I just can't resist posting a few!
    Jack:

Jack is an 8 month old purebred Yellow Lab purchased from a breeder at 6 weeks of age. Jack was rescued by the Planned Pethood Litter Patrol. He was being given away free in a classified ad in The Blade. The reason the owners wanted him to find a new home is that they could not afford his much needed and expensive surgery to both hips. As our rescuers pulled up to their big, beautiful home in Sylvania, they were dazzled by this handsome boy that seems to be in tremendous pain.

Planned Pethood is trying to raise funds to help pay for Jack's very expensive surgery. Currently Jack is in foster care. He tries to chew on his hips, whining and chooses to sit or lay down whenever possible. He scoots over to other dogs to see them by using his front legs to pull himself over without standing up. Once Jack has recuperated from his surgery, he will be available for adoption in a few months. Jack has been to puppy kindergarten, is great with children and is a strong dog at about 80 pounds. He is full of kisses to give and is a beautiful dog with a great personality. Foster mom tells us he is a sweet and typical Lab. He knows no, sit and down and just needs work on his "finer" manners.

    The "J" puppies

This is Jubster, Jarred and Jacob

Three male 8 week old mixed puppies. Mom was a smaller dog, about 25 pounds...all white and a Spaniel mix. She was very sweet, gentle and loving and have been well cared for in their home. Mom is being spayed and returned to the owner. We feel father could have been a St. Bernard. Jacob weighs 14 pounds, Jarred weighs 9 pounds, Jill weighs 15 pounds, Jubster and Jorge weigh 11 pounds.

    Cooper

A 6 month old male Pekingese Beagle mix. Copper was originally purchased in a pet store. His owner no longer wanted him and he was given to another family where the wife really didn't want dogs. So now poor little Copper is looking for his forever home. Third time is a charm! Copper is adorable! He has plenty of energy and loves to play. He is very good with the 4 year old daughter however because of his past would do best in a family with older children. He is good with other dogs and cats. Copper is not a barker and seems to be housebroken. He can sit and is working on his crate training. He barks when he first goes in but settles quickly. Copper weighs approximately 10 pounds.

And of course and black and white...Picco

    This is Picco

Picco is a 9 month old male Lab/Retriever mix. He was adopted from the Toledo Humane Society when he was 8 weeks old. He has to find a new home now because the owners no longer have the time for him. But why listen to me? Here is a note from Picco himself!

Since I have been with my foster mom, I am learning to sit and not jump up on my foster mom. That's not such a good thing to do since I am still growing and getting stronger, I could knock her down. When my foster mom picked me up at the vets office, I was anxious and not sure what was going on. Since we had a long drive home, I was really bad in the car, jumping all over, but now when I ride in the car, my foster mom put me in my own doggie seat belt so I wouldn't get hurt and I am doing better. I can sit and look out the window or lay down and take a nap. A nap is good thing.

I am not really sure why my family gave me up, but I think it was because they didn't have the time to bond with me and teach me my basic commands. But I am housebroken and go to the door if my foster mom doesn't leave the door open for me and my foster brothers and sisters. I get along with foster siblings, and the cat sometimes. I am much more relaxed now. I have toys to play with and a fenced in yard to run around in. I sleep by foster mom's bed at night. I hope a nice family will look at me and see what a great addition I could make to their family. See my picture? I'm really cute! I am looking for someone to take the time to get to know me. I love to give kisses, and wag my tail when you talk to me and pet me (typical Lab traits). Yes, I like lots of attention, but what dog doesn't! Did I mention, I get along with kids? I do, in fact my former family had three small kids. I weigh over 60 pounds so until I learn not to jump up, it is best I go to a home without toddlers so I don't knock them down. Well, that's all for now, my foster mom said it time to get off the computer.

AWWWW! They are all so cute, but I think the middle two (side by side pics) are my favorites! I think the one on the left could have a little Bernese in him or may Swiss Mountain Dog and the one on the right might have a little Great Pyrenees. Either way these cuties are gonna be BIG! Hope their forever homes are just around the corner.

Coooper has now found a home and Jack had his Sir Jury "Monday, May 12th. He is doing well and will start water therapy as soon as the water gets warmer."

    Here's some more cuties...
First, another cutie in need of Sir Jury, Bear...

Bear We are also in need of funds to help pay for Bear's two surgeries. Bear is 7 weeks old. He was found in a backyard left abandoned and bleeding. He had such damage to his eye that it had to be removed. Bear also had a puncture wound to his upper mouth and will need an additional surgery to correct the gap. Our vet believes he was attacked by a dog. Bear will be available for adoption once he has healed. He has one bright blue eye so we believe he is some type of Husky mix. If you would like to inquire about Bear, please e-mail his foster mom directly at [email protected] If you like to make a donation towards Bear's two surgeries, you can do so on line on our "Join Us!" page or you can mail a check to: Planned Pethood, P.O. Box 178, Swanton, OH 43558. We thank you in advance! Should we be fortunate enough that your generous response exceeds the cost of Bear's expenses, donations will be set aside to help another animal in need of extraordinary medical expenses.

And just some after my heart...
    Freckles

Freckles is about 6 years old. The owners got him from the Humane Society in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida when he was about 6 months old. He loves to be with other dogs. He actually is happier with other dogs and gets along with most any dog. He loves popcorn and has to cover up in a blanket when he sleeps. Freckles is a very good listener. Most of the day he will sleep on his blanket if he's not playing with a buddy. He is house broken, and will tell you when he has to go out. ( He's a talker) He is wonderful with children! Freckles has had no medical problems since the owners got him at 6 months old. He needs a good home where someone has time for him.

    Boone:

A 35 pound, 11 month old male Black Lab/Beagle mix that was rescued from the Henry County Dog Pound. Boone is very friendly and gets along well with other dogs. More information to come
