How do you clean your cat trees?

We vacuum the cat tree once a week and it still looks dirty! Its white, so all the dark hair from Livvy, Noel and Basie make it look dirty.

    What do you all do?

    Kelly,

I use a cheap hairbrush to brush all the cat hair out of the cat trees. Works like a charm! Alot better than those sticky rollers and lint brushes.

I vacuum it, and then I take the slicker brush to it. The brush gets all the extra hair out!

I vacuum it, then take a slicker brush to it (not the one i use on bastet) then vacuum it again ... Bastet's pole is cream and green.

If you spray "hairy" furniture, rugs etc lightly with water (I keep an old windex bottle handy) and THEN brush with a hand brush it seems to come up easier.

I have vowed to myself that any furniture I purchase from now on will MATCH MY CAT!!!

Thanks Kay for my great sig & avatar!!!

Great ideas here, but my cat trees are selected to match the cat(s) so I never really noticed any problem! When you rent the Rug Doctor, I gather there's a special attachment for upholstery? I've only done my rugs with one of those -- works GREAT! I'll have to try it on the cat trees next time.

I vacuum mine and use one of those pet rubber hand gloves to get any excess fur off. It seems to work well.
