    New Here...

    Hello! Greetings!

My name is Crystal and I am new here. This looks like a great forum!

I just adopted a 4 month old Australian Cattle Dog AKA: Queensland Blue Heeler. Do any of you have an ACD? Anything you can share with me?

I adopted him because my hubby will be shipped off with the ARMY for about 5 months and I wanted a companion to help me pass the time, as my human kids are always so busy doing their own thing.

I also have cats and while they give oodles and oodles of love, that's about it.

I'd love to chat with all of you.

    Peace, Crystal

    Hi Crystal!
Welcome to Pet Talk. I love australian cattle dogs! I want to get one when I'm older. They are very beautiful. So what is your pup's name? Male? female? I have a 10 month old sheltie male named Kai.

    Hi binka_nugget !!!!

    WOW, fast reply.

My boy's name is Casey and he's 4 month's old. He was abandoned as a puppy and somehow he survived out in the BMX fields. As far as we know he was hit by a car and his leg fractured and an injury above his eye. Nobody did anything until a week later when an old guy brought him in to the Vet Hospital (which is where my friend is a Vet)

He has been in the hospital ever since. He got 5 stitches above his right eye. Since his leg was fractured, it healed without being set. They were going to re-break it and re-set it. so he wasn't going to come home for aweek or 2, and then he would be in a cast for at least 4 more weeks! But my friend called today and said they deliberated and decided he is not going to have the surgery, as it would do him more harm than good, so he get's to come home on MONDAY!

Today, my friend sent me a doggy "baby book" to record his homecomming and all his special events.

    I'm so excited.

PS, the link below my last post is a pic of us.
    Peace, Crystal

    Question.....

I have a couple questions about changing my settings...

    1. how do I change my setting to HTML ON?

    2. How do I get rid of that "newcomer" under my username and change it to something else?

If you go up the top you should find a button that says "user cp" click that, then click edit proflie, you should be able to change your "newcomer" to something you would like, and also i think turn the html on

Actually you can't change the Newcomer at all until you hit 100 posts then you can follow Golden's instructions to change it.

BTW: Welcome to Pet Talk. Disappointed though that I can seem to see the picture.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Really? you can't see it??? hmm, I can re-post it. I also put it as my avatar, but it's real small...

    Thanks for the welcome...

I still can seem to figure out how to turn HTML on.

Welcome to Pettalk! You will like it here!

Hope to see your cats :P on the Cat's board and hear from you and your furkids.

Actually I think HTLM is off and they use PHP instead. If you look down the Reply window you can see it.

    WELCOME TO PET TALK!!!!

And thank you for rescuing your pooch. Can't wait to see pics!!

I have two rescued pups -

Leo is a 21/2 yr old Chow/Rott Mix with a heart of gold - I adopted him from the SPCA about 2 years ago. He was a sweet dog with NO MANNERS!!! He has since turned into the best dog.

Penny is a 6 or 7 year old small (35lb) GSD Mix - I adopted her from the Buffalo Animal Shelter about 3 weeks ago. She is very timid with people but very alpha with other dogs. She is starting to really come out of her shell and has started playing with toys and Leo - although when she has had enough she will get a little snippy with him.

Oh yeah - there is Sam the cat whom I inherited from my Mom when she had a stroke and had to go into a nursing home.
