Pastel Drawing or Painting of your pet

Has anyone had a sketch (pencil or pastel) or a painting done of their cat?

I know there are people who will do an original artwork from a handful of photos.

I was just wondering - have any of you had one done, and, if so, were the results as good as expectd?

Thanks Kay for my great sig & avatar!!!

I have one. Not that I ordered one, but I was asked by a Japanese artist who saw Luna's website if it's okay to draw Luna.

Here's the result, it's quite good, isn't it?

Here's the link to the artist's website, check it out, he/she is very talented! http://homepage2.nifty.com/catsportrait/7th-floor.htm

I remember someone on Pettalk who does pet drawings. She is very good. I thought about having a drawing done of Edwina for my husband some day. But who was it????? Wolf_Q perhaps?

    Does anyone remember???

Here's the link to WolfQ's post in Marketplace about having your pets picture done. Thanks for reminding me about this since I was going to have it done also.

I think there were maybe one or two other posts in Marketplace that might have something to do with this, but I didn't read them and just quickly saw the titles when I was looking for this one.

    Thanks everyone,

I'll check out Wolf_Q's website this evening.

BTW the sketch of Luna is great - that's the kind of thing I have in mind!

Thanks Kay for my great sig & avatar!!!

    Wow!

That picture of Luna is exsquisite! It makes me want to brush the cobwebs off of my own (dodgy) art skills and draw Pixel - the only trouble is, she won't sit still for more than five seconds! I think I will have to base it from a photograph!

George is adorable!!! Is he a boxer? I love boxers! They are the silliest and most adorable dogs!

George was a mastiff/lab mix. He passed to the RB last August from an allergic reaction to a bee sting. I had the drawing done for my boyfriend for Christmas after George died. But, I love how it came out...she did a great job.

    George

He's beautiful nonetheless - that lovely drawing is a lovely memento to keep forever. That's so sad that he died from a bee sting - how awful for you. I am sure he is happy at the RB with all the lovely kitties to chase up trees!
