    poodle needs a home

    this is Harrison

he is an 11-year old standard poodle, who was given up after his owner had a stroke
the only other thing it says about him, is that he has some medical considerations, but I'm not sure what they are.

I sure hope he finds a home, I'm sure he is terribly confused where he is now

Oh how heartbreaking for Harrison as well as his owner. He is probably so confused and wondering what's going on. Oh my, I wish I had room for one more! Deli I would love to see someone such as yourself take a chance on this sweet senior. He certainly does need a special someone right now.

Yes, he's in PA--thanks for answering for me, and finding the website!!!

Nicole, I'm not sure if they adopt out of state. We went through them when we got Abbey, and I don't remember the app saying anything about that. Obviously, they knew we didn't, but I don't know.
Please let me know what happens!! He really looks like a sweet senior boy, and I'm sure he would love an acre!!!!!

I *think* the woman you are going to want to speak with is Cathy--she is pretty much in charge of the organization.

I'm going to keep my fingers and everyone else's paws crossed for this precious boy. Maybe they will consider letting him go out of state because of his age. He needs a good home and I know Nicole would provide it!!!

    I know she would too!!!
They do ask for references on the application, 2 non-family members (I think), plus your vet.
I'm sure you have references, but if you need any, I would be happy to let you put my name down.

    O.K. guys...I tried...
They are ADAMANT about No out of state adoptions...and no adoptions over the computer...I really do understand their position....I don't know how I could effect changing their mind....
My solace is that it is a NO-Kill facility...

Does anybody know anyone in that area that might be interested??????

I wish that I could take him....he would have a wonderful home to live out his twilight years.....
    I really am sorry...
If anyone has an idea....please let me know...if you don't want it on the board...pm. me....
    Thanks,
    Nicole

Oh, what a shame. I wasn't sure of their policy, I shouldn't even have put his pic here.
Yes, they are a no-kill facility, and if anything, he will have a foster home hopefully--when they have too many dogs, some of them stay at the kennels in the area, if no one can foster them.
I cannot take him, unfortunately, but I can try to get an update for you when anything happens. I am on their volunteer list, so they will know me if I call, but I don't know of anyone here who could take him right now. I will do my best to keep you all posted, and I won't post any more of their dogs on here.

Don't be discouraged......You did the right thing...what if a new member joined that lived right by and was in Dire Need of a 11 yr. old blk. std. poodle....he would have miised his chance!!!!
rescue is tough...don't let it get you down...and Please Do Not
Stop Posting their dogs here....you never know who is reading this...and it could be just the right person!!!!!!

    Thank You for Trying...
    I've not lost hope yet!!!
I'm calling tomorrow again to better plead my case!!!!!
