    Re: Some hamster stuff ;)

Very interesting facts, some I knew, some not. Like the Syrian ones were solitaire. But I have to disagree in the three years spam live, that's is in a natural environement as pet the can live up to 6 years if well cared. that what my first Hamster , a syrian one , did. He, called Totó, got a healthy -spoiled life ultill the age of 5 yrs. and 9 monts.
He certainly enjoyed eating yogurt, with stramberrys please! And he went nuts for apple's seeds and carnation's petals.

My last one , a syberian dwarf , called Shin-Xan went to the RB last week , after she got an abcess. We took her to the vet and got antibiotic shots and her abcees cleaned every day for one week at the vet clinic and then one more week at home, the vet teach us how to, we didn't want to stress her going back and forth .
As there was any improvement and getting tiny and the vet said there was many changes she developped a bad tumor , we, the vet, my partner and myself, decided to put her sleep.I hadn''t the heart to put her through more. She was one year and a half more or less, don't know how old she was when we get her. She was quite a caracther
    I miss my Shin-Xan

solitary means they HAVE to live alone, with no other cage mates. .
