    Introducing Bramble……

We took our visitor to the vets where she passed all her blood tests and is a medium or longhaired little girl. (Well the vet is pretty sure, she is a girl)

    MOST IMPORTANTLY…..WE ARE KEEPING HER

So I would like to introduce our Fifth furkid…Bramble. (So named after the bushes, we fought though to reach her.)

She is a beauty! I'm SO glad to hear you're keeping her. I like the name Bramble...very appropriate!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

WHAT??? What happened to Houdini? LOL....I don't care what you name her, just as long as you keep her.

BUT, I do need to speak to you about your 'mini-herd' description. You are only one behind me (and sheesh, how long will it take you to catch up, two weeks?) and I now declare you a .....

    Welcome Bramble

Snicker, snicker.......5 cats in a one cat household. WE are contagious, aren't we??

A few excerpts about how 1 cat is enough, no 2 cats is better, well 3 cats should be perfect...................................

    QUOTE :

3-10-03 I still think George needs a furry friend to keep him company ........But my other half thinks that George will sulk and that we wouldn't love another cat the same.

3-22-03 We are officially a two-cat household. We blame Pet Talk….

4-4-03 we are 1/2 thinking of adopting a third cat which is older than her (Milly) and will still play with her but younger than George. But I think we'll end up with two cats bothering George !!!

    4-17-03 (Milly & Milo ).............
I am pleased we took your advice and got her a playmate, so far it seems to be working.
Do you realize we now have 4 littertrays one per cat & one spare

4-20-03 I know I said that three cats was our limit. But I can't stop thinking about this cat we saw at the shelter last week, when we adopted Milo.

5-23-03 (Caramel...RIP)Well he (PaysForIt) has agreed that we can take him to the vets to have him looked over but not to get too attached in the mean time. (As if)

5-24-03 (introducing)Treacle, nee Sooty, called so in remembrance of Caramel PayItForward having pestered me ever since we got Milo

    6-9-03 We are keeping her!!!!!!!!!!!!
    this makes number 5

Thanks everyone for a positive reaction. I was a bit concerned that people would think us mean, for keeping Bramble from her mum. The vet said she is a suitable weaning age

    Cataholic...
He He. I have altered my description. Hurrah I have a real live 'grown up' cat herd.

    Jen....
OMG.. So we have adopted a cat a month for the last 4 months. Now when you put it that way...It is a bit scary. Makes us look like mad cat people.
    {The quotes you found made me laugh, must of took you ages to find them}

Welcome to the herd, sweet little Bramble! I kinda figured that after enjoying a weekend of kitten antics, you wouldn't be able to let her go.

Yes, they are at the moment but I have no idea if they'll stay that way, as I thought all kittens have blue eyes to start with.

    Question for the floor
When will Bramble have her adult eye colour ?

PIF- I have read various studies, treatises, reports, etc., that hold the ONLY way to determine the nature of the kitty's adult eyes is by taking in another kitty a little younger, and have them stand side by side (or at least in the same house) for a minimum of one month's time. After that time, Bramble's true eye colour will develop. But, only if you ADOPT the other kitty, too.
