vestibular sysdrome

Babbette, age fourteen, seems to have this problem.
If any of you have had experiences in this area I would sure like to hear them as it would help deciding what to do.

My friend's senior Vizsla suffered from VS. She did have a permanent head tilt, but was able to live for several years with this condition without difficulty, thoroughly enjoying life. She passed away in her sleep at age 16. From all I have read, this is not a fatal condition. Often it will resolve itself. But if not, most dogs can live happy lives despite the diagnosis. Good luck with your dear Babette...one of my most favorite doggies of all time is a Labbie girl named Babette!

Thank you for you kind thoughts and the article that spelled out the problem much better than my vet ( or maybe there was to much feeling involled at the time).

Yes, you could have been feeling too overwhelmed at the time you spoke to your vet Often we forget to ask questions that come to us later on. Perhaps you could speak with her/him again? Maybe bring your questions in writing, etc? I will be saying very special prayers for your dear Babetter. And keeping all paws crossed that she can overcome this hurdle.
