Meet my foster mom cat and babies.

For those of you who have not seen the other thread about me fostering my first cat, Let me say that I will be fostering a cat (with babies) for a local shelter. I do not have her yet as she ended up giving birth at the same time as her vet's visit to check for FeLV/FIV. I should be getting her soon. She did test negative.

    Jen,

OMG!! That brings back so many memories! I just have one question...she's in a cage. I thought the rescue organization says she goes crazy in a cage. Not that it's not a GOOD thing, mind you. I was just curious. It's actually a better place for her and her babies. You might want to think about it.

    Congratulations!!

Jen I posted on the other thread too but I just wanted to say congratulations to Momma here as well. I thought she had given birth in your home. I should have figured you would have mentioned it if you had played OB-GYN for this little lady.

I noticed. Maybe they meant a carrier. I really don't have ALL the info, it was mostly e-mail contacts. The e-mail that stated "I think she really needs a room because she doesn't like the cage" was the first one I received. Maybe she was just more nervous as a newly caught cat. If they send a cage that will be great, but this particular room that I have in mind for using, I THINK will be good. It is on the smaller size and not any place that she can really hide the kittes out of sight. (no under the bed or dresser, type of thing).

Looks like you're going to have so much fun! You're doing a great thing, and from what I read from your posts, you'll make an excellent mom! Congratulations!

Congrats Jen! It sounds like you will have fun! So with kittens and new momma that will make 19 kitties in your house!
You are catching up to Mugsy and her 20 dogs!
Why do I have a feeling that you will be keeping at least one of the orange babies?

    You are SO lucky!!!

Dear Jen, Congratulations to you on your first foster kitty and family of little feline beauties!!! You are SO lucky and I have a serious case of "baby kitty envy"!!! I hope that your busy schedule will allow you to keep us updated on the darling kitties and the MOM, too. This is something that really interests me and I would very much like to know how fostering actually works, what is required on a daily basis, etc. You are a wonderful person to take this on, in view of the fact that you already have a multitude of your own cats to care for. WOW ! That is just great of you. Hoping to hear about your experience when time permits....regards from Deborah in Montreal. and way too

Aww they are soooo adorable. Congratulations Jen on your first foster and the big question is, " I wonder how many little kitties Jen will be tempted to want to keep?" LOL

Looks like the vet doesn't want the babies moved for at least 2 weeks. I am in tears. I was so looking forward to this. Well, there will alays be another on. Am I silly to be this upset?

No, you are not silly to be this upset. I would be as well. Why can't they be moved for two weeks? Are you going to be taking care of them after the two weeks are up?

I can totally understand your disappointment. I imagine the vet must have a reason for thinking like this although I can't think at the moment what that might be. Was Mamma Kitty's labor/delivery difficult? Have all of the kitties been given a clean bill of health?
