    Honey started it...she smelled something!!!

Then Lilly had to join in:

    And we dug and dug:

    We took turns digging!

    Honey got another idea!!

I don't know, if that is Butter there on the wall, he looks as if he has already decided on how to spend his day. Honey and Lilly, you are two determined girls. Hope there weren't any ants where you are digging. Hannah came in one day with both front legs crawling with ants, not a pretty sight when you have lots of curly fur. Like it or not, she got vacuumed.

Never found a thing, Rachel! After all that work!! LOL!!!

They dug at least 12 inches in the mint bed, knowing that some creature was hiding in that wall!!!!

    I'm glad it wasn't ants!!!

Rachel you are cracking me up. I am totally laughing.. I thought my husband was the only one in the world that attempted to vacuum our dogs! How on earth did you get Hannah to sit there?

Logan, those pictures are so great ! I always wonder what they think they are looking for when they don't come up with anything

No, you're not! My husband vacumed Belle in an attempt to get her dry after a bath. And if she didn't enjoy every minute of it!!

To bad they didn't find anything. I'm sure they would have loved to find a bone! The pictures are cute though!!!
My pets are usually pleased with what I do, because they are not inflected with the concept of what I SHOULD be doing. My time is owned by: Missie,Thor, and Trinity!

Oh Logan what a timely topic! I just got in from filling up four of Bella's holes outside! I had bought a couple of bags of topsoil so I could seed some bare spots and instead had to wind up dumping them in the holes she made. (For some reason the little mound she leaves by the hole never quite fills the hole back up). She has been good about digging for several weeks now and I thought it was over. WRONG! I guess there are just some smells out there that need further exploration. We have some mole mounds along the back fence but for some reason she dug in the nicest part of the lawn! My Ashley used to dig up "chipmunk hill" almost as well as a bulldozer but I have such a thick bed of periwinkle growing there now that Bella will have a hard time digging through that.....or so I think! ha! Butter looks like he could care less at the moment about whatever the girls are finding. He will wait until they have unearthed whatever it is and then enjoy the chase! He is probably saying to himself...."let them do all the work....I'll get involved when it's fun!"

Rachel...I love your Hannah stories! I wouldn't have thought of the vacuum cleaner. Great idea! I probably would have made a big production out of it with a bath, etc. I will store that thought in the back of my mind for a time when Bella might need vacuuming!

    Logan:
I had to laugh when I saw the pictures My first Golden, Natasha the Red Menace, used to dig all around the fence to hide the soup bones(for a rainy day ? ) I always thought that, 100 years from now, when archeologists dig in my backyard, they will be very confused at what they find.
The girls look beautiful, as always.

Logan, those photos are great. I love them, and they are so colorful and clear. Maybe they hid their extra stash of bones in there
and butter took them and hid them somewhere else.

Thanks everyone. Yes, it was in my backyard, or what is left of it! LOL!! Those girls don't allow much to grow back there. At least they smelled good after this adventure, since it was in a huge bed of mint!

Sorry for the huge picture. I tried to change that picture later, because I realized I had posted two of the same thing, and my new post was much larger!!! Sorry.
