I also have two cats now. We have had Mandy for a little over two weeks.

    ScantyNebula,

I think your kitty would do well with another cat. A kitten is by far the best way to introduce a new one. I've always gotten kittens (not that I haven't taken adult cats in to try and introduce them). And kitten season is coming up SOON!!

Cats do get lonely and bored. The best thing you can do for your kitty is get him a companion.

You'll have to do it gradually. I can help you when you and Toby are ready.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

    ScantyNebula,

I believe the younger your cat is when you introduce a new kitten the better they adjust. Your Toby is around the same age as my Hayley and Hayley adjusted to having Mandy really fast. You can PM me if you have any questions about how Hayley and Mandy acted. I would love to see more pictures of Toby. Can you post more?

I have two indoor kitties (Emily and Tanner) and three porch kitties ("Mummy" an all white stray, "Midnight" a tiny all black stray, and "Kat" a great big old grey tabby).

If I had the room (and the $$$$) I would have many many more.

I only have one She's always loved dogs and I've had a hard time getting her used to cats. She was really starting to bond to my last two fosters though I REALLY wanted to keep them but I couldn't because of the landlord. They gave me permission to foster but not KEEP. I am still so upset at lnot being able to keep those last two. Out of all the fosters I've had, those two definately would have been keepers.

Kitten season is approaching so I will be having more bottle baby fosters soon.
