Not Cat related...but I need prayer

I know this belongs in "general", but most of my friends usually stay in "cats". I hope you don't mind.

I just got my call from my GI regarding the smaller intestine xray and blood work.

Blood tests revealed high antibodies for Inflamatory Bowel Disease (he said Crohn's). When testing for Gluten (possible Celiac Disease) one of the numbers was very high, over 100, when 10 is the norm.

The barium xray last week was fine.

My next step IS a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I'm going in on the 26th at 11:45 and they will do both. He said they would sedate me...thank goodness. I want to be in la la land, not knowing anything they are doing.

Like I've said before...I'm really more scared for the endoscopy, that really freaks me out. But, as I told God in the dressing room after my xray last week, "If you want me to go through more test, you'll have to get me through them." I know He will only give me what I can handle. But, I need your prayers and well wishes.

If anyone has had the endoscopy done, would you PM me? I need reassurance that I'll be OK.

    Thank you so much!

    Love, Kelly

OMG! They are going to do both tests in one day??!! I'll be praying for you! Poor thing.
Since the blood tests revealed high antibodies, and high numbers for gluten, is there anything you can do for those?

I'm confident that you'll make it through the tests just fine. I was looking at that website that one of the other PT members had posted on one of the other threads. There was a video of a newswoman getting a colonoscopy done. She seemed ok all the way through it! Hopefully it will be as easy as it seemed on that video. Did you see that one?

    Hi Karen!

Yep, both on one day...a good thing in that I wont have to freak out more than once!

For the inflamatory bowel...can't do much, other than eat chicken broth and jello. For the Gluten test, yes, avoid gluten. I'm going to do that.

The person who showed her colonoscopy is Katie Kurick (spelling?) I think. I know that one wont be that big of a deal. At least not compared to the other one. eeep!

    Thanks for your prayers sweetie!

I will most definitely keep you in my prayers!! I know that God will help you through this difficult time.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

My brother-in-law has Crohn's disease and has to get a colonoscopy every few months or so to check the inflammation to see if it's getting any better. He says that it's really not a big deal. I have faith that you will make it through fine.

I will keep you in my thoughts on the 26th. Just relax and think positive.

    Hi there.
I don't know much about the procedures, but will DEFINTELY be praying for you. I'm sure you will come through it just fine and not remember a bit of either procedure. And you're right, at least you'll get both done in one day! Makes it a little easier on the nerves.

Keep us updated of course, and I will keep you in my prayers for all good news from here on out!

You will not be alone as you go through these tests Kelly. Our prayers will surround you and God will be right by your side as He always is. I hope you will have a definitive diagnosis quickly so that you can begin whatever treatment is necessary and start to feel better soon! (((hugs)))
