This is one of my foster babies from last year. Hard to believe she'll be a year old soon and I was giving her a bottle when she was just 2 weeks old after being thrown on the highway

    Zap Ball

Might as well use this to show Hannah and one of her favorite toys...the Zap Ball. This thing lights up and makes various goofy noises. The lighting up and noise part doesn't last very long and the ball itself will not tolerate much chewing, but Hannah is so enamored with this that I periodically shell out the 7.95 or whatever it costs for a couple weeks of fun.

Here are my babies sleeping--when they're not tearing up the house, this is where they usually are.
We have a zap ball too--it drives them nuts!!!!

A zap ball looks like a plain red ball. You can see it in my picture a few posts up. But when you bounce it or it hits something, it will start a flashing light inside and also silly noises, one of them sounds like a phone ringing. The battery that runs these lights and noises doesn't last very long, but it is fun while it lasts. Cautionery note: If your dog is a chewer, the zap ball deteriorates fairly rapidly. Also I have bought several that were duds...that is didn't ring or flash. It is good to test them at the store before you buy them by kind of hitting the ball with your hand in the package to see if it lights up.

Here's my Star sticking out her tongue in defiance and giving Mom the "raspberries" after being told to stop eating from the patch!! And Rachel, Star LOVES those zap balls. Unfortunately, the light and sounds last about ONE DAY in the mouth of a Lab!! And I had to laugh when you mentioned the "phone ringing" sound the ball makes. Me and the girls were getting out of the car after a ride to the beach. Suddenly I heard the phone ringing! I hunted for my cell phone under the seat, on the ground...NO PHONE! I thought I was going nuts, until I saw that "little red ball" rolling across the garage floor!
