    Training...

    When to start..

I understand I should get the pup into kindergarten.. and or obedience as quickly as possible...

but we are thinking of training her for Show and or Hunting....

Simply because she seems to LOVE to learn... anyone who knows some advice on when to begin training my pup for Show and for Hunt I'd greatly appreciate it!

Mabye you should see if it likes being groomed than it could be for show but how many tricks does it know? it has to be obedient to be in show...unlike my dogs

She loves to be brushed.. and have her nails done... lol..

but I am not so interested in showing her.. necessarily.. just training her for it..so she doesn't get bored...

she is geeze I guess she's 4 months old now..

    she does
    sit
    lie down
    roll over
    sit pretty
    shake
    stay and wait

    she understands...
give it to mommy (and she does...)
    fetch...
    Drop it..
    no!
    good girl!!

and she is VERY EAGER TO PLEASE!!

Now this is a good question for Dixieland Dancer, she shows
her dogs in conformation, and their are others on the list
that compete in obedience etc. They are the experts.

I edited my post, when I saw you are not interested in conformation,
but you still might want to consider joining a local breed club in your area.
Check the AKC web site for your official
    breed club etc.
I love watching dogs compete in obediece etc.
    Your puppy is adorable.

I don't know exactly what I could even show her in... I know that the akc standards currently qualify her blue coloring as a fault? Not all read up on the details of what she can and can't compete in.. she is AKC registered.... however... I think I have read... somethings she can compete in if she beats gray's she can actually beat a gray that is faulted for something else... but in some things she couldn't compete..

Though I also know since the Blue coloring is a dominant gene... many Blue owners have been petitioning the AKC for years to "fix" it's policy...

If you think she might be good in obedience and agility etc.
those are also events she can enter at AKC shows among other events. See what she enjoys and start training.

    Thanks!!

I totally intend to... if she is just in love with it.. maybe I will compete her...

either way.. she seems to LOVE learning new things... and people... so I don't think... there is anything but a plus side to training her!!

    Thanks From me and Blu!!

If your Weimaraner is distinctly blue coat it is a disqualification in the comformation ring. but will not hender in obe. agility or other forms of showing, field trials, etc. only conformation as the dog has to be true to the standards.
