Now Gabe is sick! Much worse than Graemer!

I have an appointment today at 4:15 for the Gabe cat. He is really not breathing normally and has the same lack of energy etc. as Graemer did, so my guess is that he has the same thing, but worse and it has impacted on his lungs. Since I am not a Vet, I made the appointment. I guess I should bring Miley in, just to save myself the additional trip tomorrow!

Yikes. Can cats share bacterial infections? Gabe does clean Graemer and vice versa, so maybe Miley will be spared.

    Yikes x 1,000

Oh Sas, here you go again. Poor Gabe! I'm glad you got an appointment at the vet so quick. I do believe that cats can share bacterial infections, so it's most likely the same Graemer had and can be treated. Yes, bring Miley as well, you never know.

We'll keep our fingers and paws crossed here for him!

    Please keep us updated.

Oh dear Sallyanne what a tough time you are having! We of course will be praying for the Gabester and do hope that he will be able to be treated and recover as rapidly as Graemer. I think it is wise to take Miley girl too. I bet it is hard keeping your mind on your work. It's too bad that you can't call home and have one of them report in on how everyone is doing. We will all be waiting for an update.

Oh, my little Gabey. Hope he is feeling better soon I wasnt aware that cats could contract bacterial infections from one another...it will be intersting to see what the vet says. Hope he is feeling better soon, and that Graemer is all back to normal too. Here's is hoping Miley doesnt get it

    Oh Sallyanne

Another sick furboy - {{{{Hugs}}} coming across for Gabe - hope it's nothing serious. I'd take Miley in too - save another trip in case she goes down with it.

Yes as Randi said - I'm sure they can share bacterial infections - why not they share everything else!

    Lots of luck

Each cats has their own little immune system

    Here's my take on it.

Gabe has an "older mouth" and I cannot clean his teeth. Gabe and Graemer are always cleaning each other and knawing on each other. My guess is that Gabe's nasty mouth germs are the source.

The Vet said that it sounded as though they both have the same thing and that Gabe's also infected his chest. It could be that Gabe had it at the same time, but since I was measuring Graemer's illness on his lack of activity. Gabe is always inactive, so he could have been suffering from the same thing at the same time. Graemer has been on meds since mid-day Saturday.

We shall see. I hope it is nothing serious for Gabe. He has that same "Mom, help me" look on his face! I noticed it last night and then called the Vet this morning!

I am going to ask the Vet for additional pills for Miley, just in case.

Does this mean I will have to give Gabe a pill? OH NO!

I shall run to the store for hockey equipment.

LOL! I hope it it won't come to that! John had to take the gardening glowes out, the first times we had to get Fister in the box!

Get well soon, Gabe! Be a nice boy and let your mom give you the pills!

Oh dear! If we don't hear from you we will assume it is because you can't type with the bandages on your fingers.

    Gabe's test...

How I tested Gabe for illness was to toss a beer bottle top....he didn't run for it. Unheard of. So I just knew he was sick. I tested Graemer on Saturday the same way - I tossed his all time favorite toy and NOTHING.

I can't wait until 3:30 to leave here, run home, grabe Gabe and drive back into town! My appointment is for 4:15.

I almost hope they keep him there. It was so pitiful this morning, to see him breathing so heavily. He had such a sad little face on him as I left.

  15. Darling Gabe,

I cannot bear the thought of you being unwell -- particularly after you selflessly nursed Graemer through his illness!

Please get well soon. Perhaps gazing at this photo and remembering those happy moments will be the cure!

Yours in sickness and in health....
