    how cold is too cold?

    hey,

i met someone in my daily chat that has a stray dog in her garage and found out that its 3 degrees out side where she is.she does have a few blankets that covers the poor thinng even warmed one up through the dryer.but i'm like let that poor dog in while she has her cat in bed with her a poor pup is freezing ohh and is a girl she metioned that the dog urinates alot thats why she wouldn't let her inbut one that girl dog could be pregnet or its just an old dog either way she could have let that poor thing in but she didn't she even has a electric blanket that she refused to give her cause she uses it her self.i'm like thats just mean.but this dog has been coming to her house for 2yearsand she didn't call someone to find it a good home thats just sickbut anyway glad its not one of my babies suffering.but will this dog whom could be pregnet make it through the night?please pray that it does i don't know this person but through chat if it were me i'd let that dog in in a heart beat.i'll keep you posted hopefully i'll run into her and the dog would be ok geez i hope sotake care

Maybe you could tell her to try to find a rescue or an organization that would take the dog. I think it is definitely too cold to leave a dog in the garage all night (at least where I live it is). Find out where she lives, maybe someone here knows of a shelter or rescue or something that she can get in contact with.
It is better than the poor dog being outside, with the wind and snow and ice, but still.

If the garage door is closed, or if there is a sheltered corner, it may well be warmer than it is outdoors. What kind of dog is it? Why do you think the dog might be pregnant? In any case, convince the woman to call a rescue place, as just because she survived does not mean she's happy, and a dog deserves better.

In Michigan, there is a law that an outside dog must have an insulated proper dog house. When it is below freezing, the owner faces abuse charges to leave an animal outside without PROPER shelter. If it is a stray, call the county animal control. At least she will have a warm place and food and a chance to be adopted.
