    Cassie is doing SO good!

Thank you to all who prayed for her. She has an incurable inner ear problem that made one side of her face droop permenantely, one of her eyes to go blind, and a loss of hearing in that bad ear, but her new vet put her on a daily low-dose of steroids to improve the quality of her life.

Prayers really DO work! Cassie's life will be shortened by both her condition, and the steroids that she is taking, but she is happy as if she were a puppy again! The vets are trying to get her on as low as possible dose of steroids, but it seems that the highter dose she gets, the less she coughs, gags and vomits. She is SO happy that I played with her tonight for over 1/2 hour and she was in pugalett heaven It warmed my heart. She had not been playing at all for several weeks. As soon as she would feel just a little bit frisky, her cough would get so bad that she vomited. She was depressed and unhappy, but she is quite the spirited little one now, thanks to the steroids and all the wonderful prayers and well wishes

Cassie sez, "snort toot...snort toot......tanks everie buddie "

I'm glad the vet was able to find the problem and treat it, so she can frolic like a pup again!!

Of course the wonders of veterinary medicine and prayers have been at work here, but I think Cassie would not have survived if your mom had not been there to love and care and persevere with every medical option she could find. You and she have been the epitome of what guardians should be. Wonderful news Leslie! Thanks for sharing and give your mom a big hug from us.

Leslie thank you so much for this update. I have been thinking 'no news is good news' so have been hoping that little Miss Smashie Face is doing OK these days. I am so glad that the quality of her life is improving and it made me smile to picture you playing with her without any ill effects. I echo what Rachel said - you and your mom have provided this sweetie with more love and caring in the relatively short time that you have known her than she received in all the years that she lived with her previous people. I am so glad she has had these happy years with you all. Give her lots and lots of hugs from me! **snorts** to you dear Cassie - and stay well - we love you!
