    Transport Accident

I read this article about a Border Collie rescue transport
from Indiana heading to Michigan rescue headquarters when
    a terrible accident happened.
The 15 month old female was later found by a passerbye
shaking with cold in a ditch nearbye, but the 12 wk old
baby has not been located as yet. His picture is in the link
to greatlakesbcrescue site address at the end of link article.

Click on "Please pray for these puppies. " I do pray
that this little guy has been found & is safe and warm
somewhere right now. Indiana has had sub zero wheather
for the last week or so & I hate to think of him out there all
alone. Hope you get to your forever home little buddy.

I will keep them all in my thoughts. I have done transports, and I am glad (knock on wood) nothing like that has happened to any I have helped with.

I was just thinking about the dear lady who was driving the
transport. Please say a prayer for her as well, I know she must
be frantic with worry & ill placed guilt over the accident. A good
hearted person like she must be, must feel so bad for these
rescue animals. I'll say special prayers for this lady also.

    Cinder and Smoke,

Thanks for posting the picture of Haskins.

When you are able to actually see the face of this little guy,
it makes it a lot more "personal", at least to me it does. I keep
thinking that he already had a forever home waiting for him
when the accident happened. Maybe God had another home
in mind for Haskins. I hope & pray that someone in the traffic
tie up maybe found him later & scooped him up and took him
home with them. The alternative is too horrible to think about.
    Best of Luck Haskins !!!

I've been checking everyday for an update to this story. So
far , nothing in the local paper about finding him. There was an
update on the BC Rescue website that I think was directed to
    people in this area;

    Update:

HELP! LOST DOG in Accident on I-70
    Haskins is a Border Collie
Haskins was in an accident last Friday January 10 along I-70 east of Plainfield. He is a Great Lakes Border Collie Rescue dog that was on his way home to his new family. He is only 12-weeks-old and weighs about 12 pounds, with very fluffy fur that is black and white with tan eyebrows.

We have found our other lost puppy, Kassi at 6 Point Roads and I-70 this last Tuesday. He could be in that area as well.

Please help us find Haskins! If you see him - PLEASE - pick him up. (By the time you call us he could be gone from his location.) Then call 317-251-1998 or the Hendricks Animal Control (in Danville at 317-745-9250)

Look for him around warm places, around dumpsters or restaurants, any place where food may be available. Also - look around your neighborhood - he may seek out a warm place under a porch. He may also seek out a friendly canine companion. Are your dogs barking at anything unusual? It may be Haskins roaming your neighborhood.

Don't be mistaken - dogs CAN survive in this weather - they are smart! If you are helping to search - take FOOD with you! (Real people food like hotdogs or lunchmeat.) Thank you for all of your help - Haskins' new family are waiting for him!!!

I think they haven't given up on finding him & hopeing that
someone might still find him wandering around the area or has
already found him & taken him in as lost.
