Greetings, Elwood from Down Under! Happy Dog of the Day to you, beautiful boy!

What a handsome, simply stunning, long-haired GSD you are, Elwood! And true to your vaunted breed, your intelligence is beyond compare, your devotion to your human pack members unwavering! And did I mention cunning? lol

When you want to go out and leave him at home you have to be very careful. If he hears the windows close or the TV get turned off or see you put on your shoes he is at the door before you, even if you thought he was asleep. You don't touch the keys unless you really are going out. You don't mention the words car, walk, go out or otherwise he goes crazy.

Nothing gets past you! And of course you're spoiled rotten, enjoying those fun (and safe!) car rides, playing rugby and chasing the pigeons, sleeping on the big bed and chowing down on human food! And in return you bring priceless joy, love and laughter to your humans' lives! Special? Oh that you are, Elwood, and no doubt your human COULD go on and one, describing just HOW special you are!

How lucky your family is, having a best friend, a loyal and loving companion, a full fledged family member in you, Elwood! You truly are the best, and so very deserving of the title Dog of the Day, EVERY day!

For his fourth birthday we had a party and he even climbed on the garden table to get his cake. He went to another dog's party and dunked for sausages just like we dunk for apples. To sum it up Elwood is really more like a person than a dog and a true member of our family.

I get the birthday cake caper, but dunking for sausages? lol That's a new one!

Thanks for the BIG smiles, sweetheart! Meeting you today, reading your proud human's love filled tribute has been such a treat! I hope you're being treated to a very special day of celebration...taking a long walk, a spin around the neighborhood in your car; feasting on your fave (human) foods, lol; being spoiled extra rotten and loved to bits; treated to all your heart desires and more! Dearest Elwood, you are gorgeous indeed! What a stunning German Shepherd Dog you are with that long, colorful fur that looks so soft and that sweet face with those lovely big brown eyes. And you are beautiful not only in appearance but also in personality! You are full of energy and make your dear people smile with your antics. You have them well-trained, don't you! You know how to get around them and make them do what you want. Your favorite thing to do is go for a car ride, and you know the signs to alert you that someone is about to take a drive. You love your food, and you love parties at which you can get special food. You and your people all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
