Gorgeous Gimli!
Dearest Gimli, you are gorgeous indeed! You're absolutely stunning, with that thick, fluffy, brown-Tabby-and-white fur that looks so soft, and that sweet face with the cute pink nose, those ears with long, bushy ear-tufts, and those lovely big pale-green eyes. You do your Norwegian Forest Cat heritage proud! Thank you for sharing those great photos with us. You are so beautiful in them all, and that black and white closeup of you lying there and looking contentedly out at us is Purrrfect! I wish I could reach through the screen and down to Fayetteville, AR to pet you, and pet your dear kitty sister Arowyn and Chihuahua brother, too! I can't of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrsons will pet you all for me
.
And what an amazing story you have to tell! You showed up in the neighborhood one day, and your dear Purrrsons-to-be felt sure you belonged to someone because your fur was so long and plush. But you stayed with them all winter, sleeping in their garage. In the spring they took you around to the neighbors and found you didn't belong to any of them. Your Purrrsons realized they had been Chosen, and they took you in. Soon you had to have expensive surgery for a urinary tract infection, but you were worth it!
What a delightful Purrrsonality you have! You don't sit on laps, and you rarely purr, but you do love your rubs, don't you. You tell your Purrrsons if you want the rubs on your back, head, chin, or ears. Your long fur is so pretty and doesn't even need to be brushed! When you lived outdoors, you rubbed up against a rosebush. You fur knotted up so badly, you had to get a Lion cut! We're glad you now live safely indoors, and we hope Arowyn does too. You escape outside on occasion to eat some grass, and we hope you come right back in afterwards. Sometimes your Chihuahua brother charges you and barks, but you just hold your ground and ignore him. You love to sit near your Purrrson while he/she watches TV, takes a bath, or is sleeping. You tell her/him about some toy you've "caught" and brought over. You all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Gimli, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Purrrsons and Arowyn and Chihuahua brother and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
