Dearest Lucy, you are lovely and lovable! What a beautiful Wood Duck you are, with those brown feathers and that sweet face with that long beak and the lovely big eyes. You look so proud and happy in that great photo, and thank you for sharing it with us.

And what a story you have to tell. You and your friends are famous celebrities from the golden age of television! You live with Ricky (of course) and another couple, Fred and Ethel. You all swim around and catch fish. Early mornings and afternoons, you lead your flock to the porch to share birdseed with the cardinals, finches, and other songbirds. Then you often invite another couple and their offspring, called Ward, June, Walley, and the Beaver, over for dinner. You call to them, and they come waddling over.

Your dear people say you seemed to adopt them as your chosen humans, so perhaps they are your pets, rather than the other way around. You ducks continue to be wild but let your people share in your antics as they watch you from the porch. They think you're special and hope you all stay around for a long time. You and they all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled story you share!

How very lucky your family is, Lucy, having a flock of best feathered friends in you and the gang, having been chosen by you to be your humans, your pets, hehe! It's wonderful that you and they are able to enjoy one another as you and gang continue to enjoy your natural life; the best of both worlds!
