Dearest Sam, what a sweetie you are, indeed! You are absolutely adorable with that fluffy soft-looking fur and that sweet face with those lovely big eyes looking straight out at me. You have quite the most delightful personality, too! You're full of energy and make your dear people smile with your antics, such as "singing" to opera, pitch-perfect, and going out walking to take out the garbage and check out the neighborhood. You've been with your special friend and family ever since you were six weeks old, some twelve years now! You and they all love each other very much, don't you. You're a delight to live with, truly surpassing the role of pet and showing the meaning of the phrase "unconditional love." What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

Hi Sam! Happy Hoosier Dog of the Day, sweetheart!

Aww! What a beautiful Cocker x Spitz boy you are, Sam! Your coat is gorgeous, like spun gold! But one look into those beautiful brown eyes of yours and I was a goner! They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and yours are about as warm and soulful as can be. No doubt about it, you're a gem! That's not to say you don't have your um, "moments..."

A funny thing happened not long after we moved into a new home. Whenever Sam has been naughty (which isn't very often), he is sent to his "bad" room. In our first house, the "bad room" was the downstairs bathroom. After we moved, we had not established another bad room...and hadn't needed one. One day, Sam was obnoxious and without thinking I said, "Go to your bad room". He looked at me for a second with a puzzled look on his face and then ran down the stairs to sit in the bathroom in our new house!

OK, so you do have your um, moments! hehe But those rare naughty times are far outmatched by your smarts! Finding that "bad room" bathroom? Brilliant! But as beautiful in looks, as smart and talented (singing to opera!) as you are, it's your big heart, your devotion to your family that makes you the EXTRA special boy that you are! How blessed your family is, having known your unconditional love and devotion these many years, since you were just a baby! The joy you bring to your humans' lives is truly a priceless gift! Not simply a pet, a best friend and companion, you're family!

Sam is a delight to live with, truly surpassing the role of pet. Every day he shows those of us lucky enough to share our lives with him the meaning of the phrase "unconditional love.

Thanks for the BIG smiles, sweetheart! I really needed a smile today and oh boy, haven't you delivered! I hope you enjoyed a very special Dog of the Day celebration...taking yourself for a walk, lol, and playing soccer with your family; singing your heart out to your favorite aria; cuddling with your beloved "baby;" being loved and pampered to pieces by your proud parents!
