A sad story of 440 guinea pigs running amuck.

I thank them for saving the piggies. How sad. My heart breaks for the man as well. I'm glad he's getting help.

I feel most sympathy for that man. Having pets is great, but there is something wrong when a person gets to that state. I think there is actually a mental disorder involving the hording of pets, etc. It's so sad, especially as most of these people shut out other people from their lives and turn to their pets, which they let get out of control.

I truly believe that there are collectors out there. Occasionally, we all see stories about huge collections of animals in people's homes. There must be mental illness involved. This is so sad. But at least many of the piggies have a chance for new homes..

Amuck you say? At least Pet Talkers were not involved! hehe! Whew!

Seriously, this is very sad. So often stories like this crop up and they involve cats and dogs. I guess the animal doesn't matter - it's the desire to surround oneself with critters and feel somehow that they are helping them. Obviously the poor man needs some emotional help but at least the piggies were rescued and should do OK.

That is really really sad. I am especially sad when it is caused by a mental illness, and not stupidity. And those poor piggies all running amuck like that. Yuk!

:eek I'm familier with this area and even have a friend who lives in Royal Oak.

How sad. I'm glad they were able to home the pigs.
