    Snowy Day

The snowy scene outside our house today, started snowing Thursday afternoon and still going at it,there almost 5 inches of snow off the back step,I cleaned some off so Heidi can get out there if she needs too.All the buses in Durham Region were cancelled, schools remain open,Marlene took Brandyn and Samantha to school,Shannon delivering mail in this awful weather, she has a big pickup truck so may not be a problem, will have to take it easy getting around.
thanks very much devon. I have been boo'd.

Yikes! I agree- please take it easy getting around! We had a slushy mess yesterday from rain that went over to snow. The temperatures dropped overnight so now we have an icy mess. not good.

Hey Barry - here in Markham we got 15 inches (just measured it). I have the best neighbours in the world and they cleared our driveway twice yesterday and again this morning. Must admit it looks really pretty out there. I feel for the people on the US East Coast who are dealing with the same thing only more so.

    Snow Day Pics

The first two pictures are from the snowstorm on Friday, you can tell how much is in the driveway after I made one pass with the snow blower,at least 10 inches maybe a foot and looking south down the sidewalk in front of the house,it took 2 and a half hours to do the driveway and the sidewalk, had to as the our paper comes in the morning and the driveway and sidewalks had to be cleared,a big drift on the front step,in front of the shed there was a drift 18 inches deep.Friday afternoon ,had to shovel some of the patio so Heidi could get out, there was five inches there at that time and later on it was covered again.Snow that I had blown from the patio Saturday morning ,covering half of the Rose of Sharon, similar on the other side of the gazebo, snow covering the roof of the shed, cleaned that off Sunday and snow hanging from the roof, used a snow rake to clean it off the West and South side of the house, away form the basement windows and the downspouts,I also did the neighbor's across the street,a man with a John Deere tractor with a big scoop in front cleaned the 3 feet of snow the plow had left at the front, that helped me a lot,now way my blower could do that,it took almost five hours to get this all done a little sore and stiff, was worth it.

    More Snowy Pics

More pictures of the snow I took on Sunday, first one outside our kitchen window, the next two out the front room window,on King Street east of Division on our way to church ,the parking lot West of the church, could been done better, now entirely cleaned up,steps going down to the sidewalk were plowed in so nobody could get to the sidewalk on Division Street ,so had to use the sidewalk on Church Street, where we normally park on Division, usually in front of the restaurant, the Yellow building, snow covering the parking meters almost and into the parking spots even on the main street as well and the town wants you shop in the downtown, this has happened the last 3 storms we have had, town needs to do a better job in clearing the downtown of snow and a picture of the church from the parking lot.

    Snowy Scenes

First two pictures are the Rose of Sharons in the patio flowerbed, the Oak tree across the street, small tree on the south side of the driveway, the Maple tree, the Norway Maple and the Rose of Sharon in the East flowerbed and a picture I took from the neighbors driveway I was snow blowing looking at the snow along our front lawn covered by wet snow,3 inches of it from late Wednesday into early Thursday morning. Those big chunks were across the driveway form the rain and wet snow e got Tuesday into Wednesday,it was just saturated with water, blower wouldn't do it so had too use a shove, did the one across the street and my Uncle's,used the snow blower yesterday, took 3 hours each day to get rid of it,all 3 driveways, really hard, especially shoveling it on Wednesday.
thanks very much devon. I have been boo'd.
