my cat rubs on my glasses

and i reallly really hate it. mojo feels the need to rub her cheek on the left side of my glasses in particular when i'm on the computer and i want her to stop it. i am darn near blind without them. i know it's a sign of affection and i don't care if she rubs my shoulder or jaw, but when she knocks my glasses off...argh! i have been blowing in her face when she touches my glasses, hoping to break her of this, any other suggestions? glassesless in columbus, joyce

Filou also does that. He rubs so hard that I'm afraid the corners will be round one day but I always took it as a special sign of affection.
I am -6,5 dioptries so life is very impressionist without them but he will not break them.

    hmmmmmmmmmmmm

My two Abys had a bad, bad habit of biting the ends of my glasses, when they were kittens. Every now and then I will find one of them getting ready to start to chew on the ear part..... I try to put them in a spot where the cats cannot get to them. They don't bother my glasses as I am wearing them, thank goodness.

I once had a cat that hated hair adornments, i.e. barretts, rubberbanded thingies etc. and would attack them every chance he would get! I would be reading the paper, ever so quietly and whamo, cat attack from behind, on the head. He would actually bite the object and then start yanking on it! Ouch! He loved hairbands tooooooo.

Smokey (the Elder) would chew the earpieces of my glasses, and also the phone antenna. You could see the teeth marks! silly kitties.

joycenalex, Fawn will sometimes chew on the ear pieces of my glasses, But all I have to do is pick him up or move my glasses. For a correction method concerning Mojo, you might keep a spray bottle of water near by, and when you see him begin to bother your glasses, the give him a short and quick spray. That is how I train my furkids when they do things that I do not approve of -and it works!

Tubby does this to Terry too. Terry puts up with it for awhile, but then I can tell it's time for me to distract Tubby, so I call him over by me. Which brings me to my only suggestion of trying to distract her somehow. Maybe offer her something else to rub on, or move into a position where she can't get at the glasses, but can get to your cheek or something like that. I think the blowing in her face is a good idea.

    Good luck!

Well it could be worse. Tibby will come up to me bite the sides of my glasses, pull them off my face and then run away with them. She does this often, then I get to blindly chase her around the house trying to get my glasses back.

What's funny is my roommate and I swear that Tibby really is part monkey. She swings on the cat tree rather than climb or jump, she's such a strange cat.
