    try the blow test

If you blow gently into your cats nose it's paws will twitich.
I'v been trying this with every cat I meet and it always happens.
    try it on your cat!

How close do you have to be? Do you do it when they are sleeping? I tried it and all my cats did were lick their noses and run away...no paw twitching whatsoever.

I use that method to pill my cats. I shove the pill in their mouth, blow in their nose and gently rub their throat. Works everytime like a charm!!! I never did see if their paws twitched though. I guess I was just thankful I got them to swallow the damn pill.

The only time bastet's paws twitch is when she is thinking something naughty.

I tried it and they didn't twitch she just growled at me.

    Lillycat,

The only cat I have problems pilling is Casey. But that method works!! I still have another week to go of giving him Interferon and Orbax. I DO hope this herpes virus subsides. He sounds and looks awful. Although he does look and sound better than he did in the beginning.
